Why Kiwanis?

KIDS NEED KIWANIS

We are passionate about making a difference.
Helping kids grow and succeed is at the heart of everything we do.

But how we do it is just as important.

We believe our neighborhoods and our world are best served when
people of all ages and different backgrounds work together to share their time and talents.

The Okotoks Kiwanis Vision & Goal

Our vision was to form an adult Kiwanis Club whose membership is comprised of men and women from Okotoks and surrounding towns who want to make our community even a better place to live! We proposed to form a service club that is “family oriented”. Simultaneously we intended to initiate community service projects, especially those that will help underprivileged children. Our goal was to accomplish this vision in an atmosphere of fun and friendship.

“Yes this was our vision in late 2017 and it was accomplished! In November last year a group pf men and women had a celebration at the Field house where we were presented with our Kiwanis Charter. Mayor Bill was our guest speaker, we received great press coverage from the Western Wheel and just had a great evening!”

So what’s Kiwanis? We became part of an international organization of volunteers that together with our “family of clubs” are nearly 700,000 members strong; and about to celebrate our 100 year birthday party! Together we annually dedicate more than 18 million volunteer hours to strengthen communities and help children.
